We all do it - keep our eye cosmetics such as mascara until they dry up or run out. The make-up artists I have spoken to suggest replacing them every 3 months but some prefer 2 months after opening. This is to reduce the risk of eye infections or contamination of the product itself. Pencil eye liners should be sharpened regularly to expose fresh colour, particularly if you apply them to the waterline and replaced if the lid keeps falling off. Cleaning any applicators and brushes that you use regularly is also important.

Here is some help for annoying eye floaters. We are asked about these a lot in the office by customers. Also, as an optician, James sees many patients with 'floaters' in their eyes. These are annoying particles or threads that appear to float across our line of vision throughout the day.
As we welcome in 2023, it is a good time to reflect on what we can all do in our general life to help maintain healthy eyes.
